The Oliver Keen Archive

“I only write what I can’t forget.”

Oliver Keen writes under the pen name Oliver Keene—a Pulitzer-nominated author known for historical fiction so precise, so intimately detailed, that critics have called it uncanny. He gives no interviews. He keeps no public photos. He has never confirmed the source of his research, and no one has ever caught him wrong on a fact.

The public believes his novellas are the product of exhaustive archival research—letters, records, survivor testimony, years spent inside dusty reading rooms. The truth is quieter and stranger than that. Oliver writes what he has personally witnessed, from inside the final five seconds before it happened.

His prose has been described as haunted poetry: spare, first-person, unflinching. Each novella is short—never longer than it needs to be—and each one carries the weight of something he cannot put down even after the page ends.

“I only write what I can’t forget.”
