The Five Seconds Connection
In Five Seconds Too Late, this is deliberately written as a breather jump—the one destination in the book where the team lands somewhere joyful instead of catastrophic, and the contrast unsettles them almost as much as the disasters do. The location resurfaces later as a Chronotours pilot tour destination once the technology becomes commercial.
Oliver's separate landing spot puts him in the orbit of a hippie named Cosmic Dave and a woman who goes by Rain—a nickname, not her real one. Years later, the team stumbles on a memoir titled Rings of Smoke: A Life in the Counterculture, written by Rain under her actual name: Willow Carmichael. In it, she describes a boy she calls Sky, who vanished from her tent mid-kiss and never returned her harmonica. Oliver still has it. It is very likely no coincidence that the team's cat later shares her name.
